[.special dinner.]

I'm a lazy person. I love to procrastinate, I find comfort in sleeping, I idle away time as though it was a useless commodity, and I have built my personal utopia where I do everything except work.
It’s perfectly natural to be lazy. I imagine that if it wasn’t for the deadlines and binding commitments that force me to do work, none of us would go back to those dungeons, aka college.
Thankfully though, I realise that laziness should be overcome in order for us to be successful and be useful to the society (skema-nak-mati!)
So, what to do to beat laziness?

PIZZA DELIVERY!!!

hahahaha... simple+easy (alasan malas nak turun makan!)... so enjoy your dinner people... I still have like thousands pages essay more!!!

[.The Muslim Man’s Dress Code.]

Let me start this entry with a story:

"A muslim man and his wife are walking down a crowded street in Miami. It’s hot and humid. The woman is covered showing nothing but her hands and face and the man……well, many times is in jeans and a t-shirt or perhaps shorts and a t-shirt. Now, I’m not screaming “haram!” at these men. Of course not, their dress code isn’t the same as a Muslim woman’s dress code. However, this image usually fuels the arguments of many Non Muslims that women are oppressed and have too many rules attached to their dress. Just yesterday a comment was made to me “Well, that’s fine, as long as he covers his head too.” I told her “Yes, rest assured my husband is dressed in long sleeves, pants, and has his head covered too. We’re happily suffering through the heat together. Solidarity!” So, we had a good chuckle and went along our ways. I’m never surprised when I get these comments."
So people, if you take a look at Muslim countries you will see many men with their heads covered. In fact many men in those countries dress in thobes, long sleeves, etc. Some people may do a double take when they learn that Muslim men have a dress code as well. Some men take their dress code lightly. Some think the women’s code is more important and thus spend their lives lecturing various women about what to wear and what not to wear. These men need to seriously understand that disobedience to Allah is disobedience to Allah whether you are a man or a woman.
The following are some rules related to men’s dress in Islam as well as some pictures of traditional islamic clothing for men. Some of these apply to women as well (which I will mark with an *).
Trim the moustache and save the beard. [Al-Bukhari and
Muslim] It is haraam (forbidden)for women to imitate men and men to imitate women in the way they dress, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) cursed the men who imitate women and the women who imitate men.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5546.
*It is Sunnah to pay attention to keeping one’s clothes clean, without feeling arrogant or exaggerating about that.
It was narrated from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “No one will enter Paradise in whose heart is a mustard-seed of arrogance.” A man said: “What if a man likes his clothes to look nice and his shoes to look nice?” He said: “Allaah is Beautiful and loves beauty; arrogance means rejecting the truth and looking down on people.”
Narrated by Muslim, 91.
It is haraam for the Muslim man to let any garment he wears hang down beneath his ankles (an action known as isbaal); the limit for any garment is the ankles.
It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said; “Whatever of the lower garment is beneath the ankles is in the Fire.”
Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5450.
It was narrated from Abu Dharr that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There are three to whom Allaah will not speak on the Day of Resurrection and will not look at them or praise them, and theirs will be a painful torment.” The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) repeated it three times. Abu Dharr said: “May they be doomed and lost; who are they, O Messenger of Allaah?” He said: “The one who lets his garment hang beneath his ankles, the one who reminds others of favours he has done, and the one who sells his product by means of false oaths.”
Narrated by Muslim, 106.
Abu Dawood (3140) and Ibn Maajah (1460) narrated that ‘Ali (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Do not show your thigh, and do not look at the thigh of anyone, living or dead.” (The majority of fuqaha’ are of the view that these ahaadeeth should be followed and they stated that a man’s ‘awrah is from the navel to the knee. See al-Mughni, 2/284 )-Some are of the opinion this is not authentic as there is another hadith stating the Prophet was riding a mule and his thigh was showing. However, most scholars say it is authentic and a man should cover navel to knee.
It was narrated by Ahmad and al-Nasaa’i, and by al-Tirmidhi who classed it as saheeh, and by Abu Dawood, and by al-Haakim who classed it as saheeh, and by al-Tabaraani, and classed as saheeh by Ibn Hazm, from Abu Moosa al-Ash’ari (may Allaah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
Gold and silk have been permitted for the females of my ummah, and forbidden for the males.”
Items died with saffron dye Narrated Anas: The Prophet forbade men to use saffron. (Book #72, Hadith #737)
Lower the gaze and guard the private parts from illegal sexual acts.*
Dress modestly*
Oh, and one of the most important rules and perhaps one of the most overlooked (after lowering the gaze): Be distinct and do not resemble the unbelievers. *
How many of us especially men actually follow these rules? How many dismiss them and think they aren’t that important? Often, the very same ones who dismiss their own dress codes are the most outspoken on the dress of women in Islam.  Brothers need to wake up and take care to make sure they are dressed correctly. It is just as important that brothers follow the rulings as women. Also, men need to know, just because a woman is dressed provocitavely, letting it all hang out so to speak doesn’t give you the right to stare at her. The rules of lowering the gaze  applies whether the woman is wearing a burqa or a bikini. Most brothers need to take care and remember that.  Dressing properly is just as much inner as outer. Like a woman’s hijab it encompasses modesty, inner pride, a desire to please your creator and follow the sunnah, lowering the gaze and protecting yourselves from such sins as illegal intercourse, lying, backbiting, and cursing. It includes being kind, just, fair, humble. It includes being kind to your wives as the Prophet(saw) said: The best of you are the one’s who is best to their wives.   In general having the character that the Prophet (saw) and his righteous companions exhibited. We like to talk about Muslim women following the examples of other pious Muslim women. Well, men should follow the examples of the Prophet and his companions. Brothers today should reflect on their kindness, compassion, fondness with their wives, integrity and implement these characteristics in their own lives. In a family we all play a part. Everyone is a shepherd (leader) over their own station. We all work together. The Muslim man needs to pull his weight as he asks the Muslim woman to do so as well. This way things will run smoothly and the family unit will be a source of peace and comfort to the heart, insh’Allah. The children will grow up with the same values and ultimatley the entire ummah will benefit.
I want to give a shout out to the brothers who do follow the dressing guidelines and are modest. Those who do implement the characteristics of a good muslim man. Because they are rare indeed. Alhamdullilah for the brothers who do dress appropriately and lower their gazes. May Allah reward you all and bless you in this life and the Hereafter. ameen. And as the Prophet (saw) said: Glad tidings to the strangers!

[.How to appreciate your friends.]

There are 5 little things of challenges that Bruce from Brucism has started. I would like to share with you the 5 simple things that can help you on how to appreciate your friends:

1. Listen
Friendship always listens. Similarly you need to give your ear while conversing with your friends. Listen what they like and dislike, listen to their question and opinion. Listen and do not judge too fast, and you will learn a lot from them.
2. Observe
Sometimes you just could not aware your friends’ strength just from the relationship you have with him/her. His/her strength may compliment others and not you. That’s why you need to observe his/her relationship with others. It is a way that you can see how he/she has really become a great friend.
3. Remember first
For a few friends that I have listed down there, I just started with the name first. I just somehow so thankful of this friend, and I want to put him/her in the list. The title/uniqueness comes later, amazingly in few minutes I can find a little thing that I can be thankful of from them. And from there I can describe much more.
4. Have a miracle from them
Albert Einstein said, “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” Take the little things that your friend has done to you as a miracle, an encouragement is a miracle, an SMS or a simple gift is also a miracle. A past in the back is a miracle, even how they call you brother/sister is also a miracle. That’s a secret of how you can find happiness in your daily life as well. Have a miracle everyday from your friend.
5. Believe
How do you bring the best in people? John Maxwell shared that “believing the best in people usually brings the best out of people.” Give your friends the benefit of the doubt. What does that mean? If you are doubting on the motive/reason behind their behavior, learn to give them the benefit of your doubt, means that try to always take it as they have the right motive behind. My manager, Dayal, taught me on the principle as well, he said… “Trust anyone until you have got a proof that you can’t trust them.” Give your friend your trust and you will bring the best out of them.

_______REMEMBER!_______
Do not let situation matter more than the relationship. Do not let disagreement to ruin the relationship. Remember the good time and you will appreciate your friend more.

[.their sons.]

These 4 pals go out to play golf one sunny morning. One is detained in the clubhouse, and the other three are discussing their children while walking to the first tee.

"My son BIll," says one, "has made quite a name for himself in the home-building industry. He began as a carpenter, but now owns his own design and construction firm. He's so successful in fact, in the last year he was able to give a good friend a brand new home as a gift."

The second man, no to be out done, tells how his son began his career as a car salesman, but now owns a multi-line dealership. "George is so successful, in fact, in the last six months he gave his friend two brand new cars as a gift."

The third man's son, Albert, has worked his way up through a stock brokerage, and in the last few weeks has given a good friend a large stock portfolio as a gift.
As the fourth man arrives at the tee, another tells him that they have been discussing their progeny and asks what line his son is in.

"To tell the truth, I'm not very pleased with how my son turned out," he replies. "For 15 years, Frank's been a hairdresser, and I've just recently discovered he's gay. However, on the bright side, he must be good at what he does because his last three boyfriends have given him a brand new house, two cars, and a big pile of stock certificates."

hahahahaha...

[.My Teacher, My Love, My Prophet Muhammad.]

Special dedication on Eid-e-Milaad/Mawlid (Birthday of Muhammad SAW)–عید میلاد النبی
In a world where people killed without mercy
Truth was fading
And evil was on the rise
In this world was born a man
So Generous, So Beautiful, So Powerful, So Pure
A guide for mankind
He suffered. His followers suffered
So today we can be Muslims
He sacrificed everything
So today we can have what we have
He united the world
And liberated the oppressed
He wept day and night. So today we can smile
He loved you and I
More than a mother loves her child
Today….
We have done everything to go against his way
Yet claim to follow him claim to love him…
We’ve abandoned our people abused our women
We gave ourselves up
To Shaytan himself
How would he feel, if we saw us now….
Its not too late….
Rectify Islaam, unite under one God
Love your brother help the needy
Give the women their rights
Guide the young, beautify the world and stand united
Bring back Islaam, that’s what He would want too…
This is for my Teacher, my Love, My Prophet Muhammad
Lets wake up and be better Muslims.

[.Five Small Ways You Can Make Yourself Happy.]

Enjoy each and every moment life has to offer.
The most important rule in life is to live in the present moment. Letting of the past, future, and all your trivial worries will by far be the best change you can make. Stop whinnying. Please stop complaining. Appreciate each and every moment from now on. Love life. Never take anything for granted. Every moment you lose to your worries is a moment lost forever. This is how people with terminal illnesses think. Life is too short. Every moment is precious.

Shut your shallow ego up.
Shut your ego up right now. Your ego brings up all your past conditions and failures to the surface. You are a human being who can make a conscious choice today to drop your ego and find the love within yourself that is always there. You are a magnificent human being, never forget that. Shut your ego up right now and send it packing.Your ego only makes you feel afraid. Say goodbye to it today.

Buy yourself a treat once in a while.
Buy yourself a present. There are a million articles out there blabbering about the evils of being materialistic. Most of this is pure bullshit. There is nothing wrong with treating yourself with a nice purchase for all your hard work. So buy that car, plasma TV, or night out. But don’t think you are a better person because of that new car. You aren’t. It’s a piece of metal on wheels. Just because you are driving it doesn’t make you better than Bob next door. So buy yourself a treat, but don’t identify yourself with it. Once you identify yourself with your stuff you become a shallow, ego filled and empty person. Enjoy your treat for what it is. No more no less. Oh yes and please make sure you can afford it. That always helps. Or else you start worrying again.

Have dinner with your close friends.
It has been proven that life’s happiest moments occur when you are with your good friends. Have a dinner party and drinks at least once a week. Laugh. Cry. Joke. Have deep and meaningful conversations. Love life with your best friends. Watch the stars together. It just doesn’t get any better than this.

So what makes you happy? Have a nice day ahead people!

[.spacious: 1.]

hrrrthrrr: Now isn’t that sweet?

[.Kahlil Gibran.]

“You talk when you cease to be at peace with your thoughts”
-Kahlil Gibran

Today, I would like to talk about a wonderful poet, Kahlil Gibran. I first came to know about him when I was looking for references at the library. I found a book entitle 'The Prophet' written by him. It was originally published in 1923. It has been printed and reprinted many times all over the world. Here I am trying to add my own opinion about him, and by doing so I have no other reason than to share my admiration and respect for Kahlil Gibran.

^ Gubran Khalil Gubran bin Mikhā'īl bin Sa'ad.
^ Arabic جبران خليل جبران بن ميخائيل بن سعد.
^ He was born on January 6, 1883.
^ He was a Lebanese American artist, poet, and writer.
^ Born in the town of Bsharri in modern-day Lebanon (then part of the Ottoman Mount Lebanon mutasarrifate).
^ As a young man he emigrated with his family to the United States where he studied art and began his literary career.
^ He is chiefly known in the English speaking world for his 1923 book The Prophet, a series of philosophical essays written in English prose.
^ An early example of Inspirational fiction, the book sold well despite a cool critical reception, and became extremely popular in the 1960s counterculture.
Gibran is the third best-selling poet of all time, behind Shakespeare and Lao-Tzu.
________________________________________________________________

I personally think that, his writing is meaningful, insightful and will be relevant for us as long as time goes on. It is truly wonderful master piece by Kahlil Gibran. It has powerful impact to the readers in term of how he relates love throughout life. I would strongly recommending for you guys to read all his poem and be wondering what life is really all about.

[...]

I’m the person who prefers one rose instead of a dozen. I’m the person who would rather stay in on the nights than go to a wild party with those people. I’m the person who wouldn’t make you wait on his hand and foot, but would do anything to make you happy. I’m the person who would enjoy reading novels rather than going to shopping mall. I’m the person who would rather stay up all night sharing my thoughts than going out and wasting my time. I’m the person who won’t hold your bag, but would rather hold your hand instead. I’m the person who will love you more than anyone can possibly dream of. I’m the person who would give the world to see you smile. I’m the person who cries himself to sleep at night thinking of you, when i know I’m the last thing on your mind. Yeah, I’m that kind of person. (errkkk?)
